Chairman and CEO - Richard L. Gilbert, MD, MBA
Dr. Gilbert earned his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine. At the University of California he was a member of the medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Before practicing, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Hospital. While at Harvard, he also served as chief resident in Anesthesia and completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Anesthesia and Pain Management. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. Dr. Gilbert went back to school for a Masters in Business Administration which he completed at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in 2001. Currently, he is the Chief of Staff and Chief, Department of Anesthesiology for Carolina's Medical Center. He is the founder of Southeast Pain Care and he led Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants in establishing a quality measurement and performance system called Quantum Clinical Navigation System. Because of his success in the quality arena, Dr. Gilbert has been asked to present to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), the American Society of Anesthesiology, MGMA, National Pay for Performance Symposiums, North Carolina and Virginia BC/BS, Harvard Quality Colloquium and other organizations. Dr. Gilbert was also appointed as the Mecklenburg Medical Society's physician representative to the North Carolina Healthcare Collaborative -- an alliance of businesses, managed care companies, hospital systems and physicians working to improve healthcare value by decreasing costly medical errors.
Executive Director/CFO – Richard Rauh, CPA
Richard C. Rauh, manages strategic planning and business office operations. Having more than 20 years experience in financial health care management, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position. Rauh joined Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants in June 2004 as chief financial officer and was promoted in April 2005 to chief operating officer. Prior to joining the company, he served in executive financial management positions for health care systems, physician practices and medical schools. Rauh, who lives in Charlotte, earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
Director of New Business Development – Jerry Ippolito, MHSA
Jerry Ippolito has specific expertise in developing hospitals’ surgical programs, increasing surgical case volume and developing anesthesiology programs. He has been in healthcare administration for 30 years as both a healthcare business management consultant and medical group practice administrator, and is regarded as one of the nation’s leaders in assisting hospitals to mediate relations between hospitals and physicians. Before coming to Southeast, he was the president of OR Efficiencies, LLC, in Naples, Fla. He earned his MHSA from The George Washington University and his BA from Cornell University. Ippolito is a member of The Medical Group Management Association, Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, The American Association of Clinical Directors (AACD); OR Manager, Inc. He is a frequent speaker at national anesthesiology association and operating room management seminars and frequently published in this industry’s journals and literature. Administrator - Southeast Pain Care - Harry Marino, MBA
Marino has more than 18 years of healthcare management experience. He served as the administrator and CEO of Carolina Bone & Joint before coming to Southeast. Marino completed his MBA from Ashford University in August of 2009 and earned a bachelor’s degree of science from State University of New York at Brockport. Marino is a member of The Charlotte Area Medical Group Managers and the Medical Group Management Association and has submitted the final requirements to the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He is also involved as a student business teacher with Junior Achievement in Fort Mill, S.C.
COO, Quantum Clinical Navigation System – John M. Kunysz, FACHE
John M. Kunysz, COO for Quantum Clinical Navigation System, previously served as President and CEO of IntelliTx, Inc., which led the successful technology development and commercialization efforts for Vanderbilt University Medical Center's WizOrder™ CPOE software with McKesson as part of its Horizon Expert Orders™ software. He was previously the VP of Business Development and CFO for IPN Network, LLC in Nashville, Tenn., which operated the largest central business office (CBO) in the history of healthcare. He was also a former founder and senior executive with EDiX Corporation, now part of Spheris, a global leader in medical transcription and clinical documentation. Kunysz is a licensed CPA formerly with PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG and received his MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University. Kunysz is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and member of the Medical Group Management Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and President of the Greater Kingsport Humane Society.
Manager of Human Resources – Jamal Walters
Walters is the Human Resources Manager for Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants. He started with the group in November 2006 as the Human Resources Coordinator and took over his current role in April 2008. Prior to his arrival at SAC, Walters spent over 11 years in the human resources field of the United States Army. Stationed in Tacoma, Washington, Monterey, California, and Charlotte, North Carolina he has worked with diverse groups of people from all over the world.
Walters received his Associate's in Business from Montreat College and is expected to complete his Bachelor’s of Business Administration in August of 2010.
Director of Marketing – Kristen Bostedo-Conway
Kristen Bostedo-Conway manages marketing for Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, Southeast Pain Care and Quantum Clinical Navigation System. With nine years of brand management and direct marketing expertise. She has produced inventive marketing programs on both local and national levels in both business to consumer and business to business environments. Before joining Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, Bostedo-Conway was the National Marketing Director for Sona MedSpa, the nation’s largest laser hair removal and medical aesthetics center, and Marketing Manager for EquiFirst, a subsidiary of Barclay’s Capital. She has also conducted marketing campaigns Red Bull North America and Meredith College. Bostedo-Conway earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass and Human Communications at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Organizational Communication at Queens University in Charlotte, NC. Recipient of the 2007 Exhibitor All Star Award and the 2009 Wallie Award for healthcare marketing, her professional affiliations include Direct Marketing Association, International Association of Business Communicators, Exhibitor Advisory Board Member and Exhibitor Magazine contributor.
Director of Information Technology - Rob Gibson
Rob has been with Southeast Anesthesiology as the Director of Information Technology since 2006. Rob has over 15 years of IT experience and has received a degree in Electronics for Computers, and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Before coming to Southeast Rob served as the IT Manager for a Naval Air System Command Contractor Based out of Alexandria VA.
Credentialing Supervisor – Barbara Waltman
Waltman joined Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, P.A. in August 2008 as Credentialing Department Supervisor. She has over 20 years in healthcare management including eight years as Senior Credentialing Coordinator and Education Coordinator of The Sanger Clinic in Charlotte, NC. Prior to joining Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, Waltman planned accredited physician medical education conferences for Carolinas Cardiovascular and Heart Institute, Lung Tumor Conference and Pediatric Cardiovascular Conference through Carolinas Healthcare System. She has owned her own medical management consulting business, taught medical ethics and medical terminology to medical assistant students and managed several healthcare facilities throughout her career.

Gordon Freligh
Gordon Freligh has been with Southeast Anesthesiology as a Scheduling Manager since 2006. Before coming to Southeast he was an Accounting Manager with Accounting Services of Charlotte. Freligh has over 30 years experience in various capacities; Cost Accountant, Purchasing Manager, Customer Service Representative and Senior Estimator/Analyst. He was involved in volunteer community recreation serving as President of Babe Ruth League and Board Member of Saugerties Athletic Association. Freligh was a certified Baseball and Basketball official at the High School and College level for 20+ years.
Carmen Acosta
Carmen joined Southeast Anesthesia and Southeast Pain Management in April 2006 as the Scheduling Coordinator. Acosta assumed the position of Scheduling Manager in 2007 and has served in this position since. She has over 25 years in healthcare field including Scheduling, Management, Database Administrator, and IT Administrator. Acosta also served as the Registrar of the prestigious Pankey Institute for Advance Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida. Carmen has taken several College certification courses in the field of IT as well as Customer Service, and Office Management.
